Zhang Ju

Zhang Ju, Ph. D, Associate Professor of Department of English at Beijing University of Chemical Technology.

 

Dr. Zhang received her Ph. D and Master’s from Beijing Language and Culture University in 2013 and 2007 respectively. She was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Regina (Canada) from 2018 to 2019.

 

She lectures in Appreciation of Literary Translations, An Introduction to Foreign Language Research Methodology, Contemporary Western Literary Theories and Comprehensive English.

 

Dr. Zhang’s research interests include literary translation, translation practice and the study of Penelope Fitzgerald’s works.

 

She has translated The Bookshop and Offshore into Chinese and both have been published by CITIC publishing house. She has translated and published seven short stories and over two dozen essays. Her recent eight research articles focus on Penelope Fitzgerald’s novels.

 

She has chaired and completed the following research projects:

Translation and Research of Penelope Fitzgerald’s Short Stories (Project No.: 12YCX01);

The Spatial Narrative of Penelope Fitzgerald’s novels (Project No.: ZD2013-01010);

Penelope Fitzgerald’s Reception in Japan: a short-term exchange project of the Ministry of Education and JSPS (JSPS ID: AP211310015);

The Love Theme of Penelope Fitzgerald’s Novels (Project No.: KG2015-2-01) and Evaluation Modules for Introductory Literary Courses (Project No.: 110004990218).
