Zhang Ju
Associate Professor
Ju ZHANG, Ph. D, Associate Professor of Department of English at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. Dr. Zhang received her B.A. from Hubei Normal University in 1998 and she received her Ph. D and Master’s from Beijing Language and Culture University in 2013 and 2007 respectively. She was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Regina (Canada) from 2018 to 2019.
Dr. Zhang is
a Lecturer at the “Beijing Citizens’ Language and Culture Lecture Series” of the Beijing Language and Culture Association (2024–2026);
an Expert in the national undergraduate thesis (design) sampling review panel of the Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center, Ministry of Education (2023);
Head of the translation practice base between World of English magazine and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (2020–present);
one of the Associate Editors of the Journal of Environmental Informatics Letters (ISSN 2663-6859) (2019–present); and
a Visiting Scholar under the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) (Kyoto Institute of Technology, JSPS ID: AP211310015, 2014).
The English courses she teaches include Appreciation of Literary Translation, Translation Practice, Advanced English Reading (I), Advanced English Reading (II), Integrated English III, Integrated English IV, Introduction to Foreign Language Research Methods, Thesis Writing, etc.
Her main research areas are contemporary British and American literature, with a focus on translation practice and the study of contemporary British female writer Penelope Fitzgerald.
