I. Overview

    With the academic research guided by the principle of “project-driven, achievement-centered, and service-oriented,” the Department of Social Sports has established a well-structured and productive research development system, with its overall research strength steadily increasing.

1. Research Projects: Clear Tiers and Broad Coverage

    The department maintains a robust portfolio of research projects, emphasizing both quality and quantity. Having successfully obtained approval for 35 research projects in total, the department boasts 3 national-level projects, 9 ministerial/provincial-level projects, and 23 other projects. This portfolio spans multiple dimensions such as fundamental research and industry collaboration, providing strong support for research teams to accumulate experience and deliver tangible outcomes.

2. Academic Output: Substantial in Quantity and Notable in Quality

1) Publication of High-Level Journal Articles

    The output of academic papers is remarkable, with a total of 117 academic papers published among which 17 are indexed in SSCI/SCI, and 25 in authoritative Chinese core journals, including those recognized by the Ministry of Education (Category A), CSSCI, CSCD, and Peking University Core Journals, and the remaining 73 papers cover diverse research areas within the discipline, comprehensively demonstrating the breadth and depth of scientific research.

2) Publication of Monographs and Textbooks

    The department has published 16 academic monographs and 1 textbook, which can contribute significantly to the theoretical development of various sub-fields of sports science, provide significant support for teaching reform by aligning scholarly research with instructional practice, and therefore, enhance the talent cultivation quality.

3. Think Tank Service and Research Translation: Application-Oriented, Steady Progress

    The department emphasizes the practical application and societal service of research outcomes. Four policy advisory reports have been adopted by relevant departments, providing valuable references for policy-making and industry development. This underscores the practical significance and service efficacy of the research work.

    Over the years, the academic research of the Department of Social Sports has demonstrated distinct characteristics: tiered project approvals, quality-driven outputs, and tangible services. The leading role of national and ministerial/provincial-level projects is prominent. The scaled output of high-level journal articles and academic monographs is evident. The adoption of policy advisory reports reflects the value of research in serving society. The overall research strength continues to improve amidst steady development, which lays a solid research foundation for discipline construction, talent cultivation, and industry service.
