1. Overview and Program Focus

    Established in 1998, the Department of English offers a dedicated undergraduate program in English. Since 2020, this program has been recognized as a First-Class Undergraduate Program in Beijing. Our core mission is to foster and equip high-caliber, versatile English talents essential for China’s foreign affairs, various sectors involved in international business, foreign language education, and academic research.

2. Teaching Innovation and Reform

    The department actively champions teaching reform and innovation. Our faculty have secured funding from both the Ministry of Education and the university for key pedagogical research projects. These include:

· Practice and Research of Integration of iWrite 2.0 in Teaching and Establishment of the Multiple Assessment System (funded by the Ministry of Education’s Industry-University Cooperative Education Project)

· Practice and Research in the Teaching Design of Ideological and Political Education for Academic Writing in the Context of “New Liberal Arts Construction” (funded by the BUCT Teaching Reform Project)
