On April 15, 2024, led by Zhang Jianwei, Dean of the School of Humanities and Law (SHL), associate researcher Zhu Dongxiang and English teachers from SHL visited the School of International Studies (SIS) of the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) for exchange and communication. They were warmly received by Xiang Mingyou, Dean of SIS, as well as other faculty members of SIS.

Dean Xiang Mingyou extended a warm welcome to Dean Zhang Jianwei and his delegation. Both deans briefed each other on issues of disciplinary construction of the English major, disciplinary features of English, and the direction of future growth for their respective universities. This was followed by in-depth exchanges and discussions on disciplinary development in English, MA program development, curriculum reform of English teaching targeted at non-language majors, the integration of ideological and political education into the curriculum, the five-in-one holistic education concept, language laboratory construction, and MTI program construction.

Concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the exchange will lay a solid foundation for further English disciplinary cooperation between the two schools. Both sides expressed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation and exchanges in the future for the development of the English discipline at both universities.
