College of Humanities and Law Held 2025 Graduate Employment Promotion and Alumni Career Talk
To support the job search process for the Class of 2025 postgraduates and harness alumni resources to guide students’ career planning, the College of Humanities and Law held a 2025 Graduate Employment Promotion and Alumni Career Talk on May 24, 2025. The event, conducted in a hybrid online and offline format, attracted nearly 200 students from the College of Humanities and Law and the College of Marxism. Party Secretary Zhang Liang and Vice Dean Xu Jun attended the event and delivered opening remarks.
Opening Remarks Highlight Alumni’s Key Role
In his online welcome address, Secretary Zhang Liang emphasized the invaluable role of alumni in supporting students’ personal and professional growth and encouraged students to seize this opportunity to learn from outstanding graduates. Vice Dean Xu Jun highlighted that this is a critical period for 2025 graduates in their job search journey and commended the timely organization of the event, expressing hope for productive and inspiring outcomes. Counselor Zhao Li then extended a warm welcome to the four distinguished alumni and introduced their backgrounds and career achievements, setting an inspiring tone for the session.

During the sharing session, the four alumni provided practical insights and firsthand advice based on their diverse experiences:
Zhang Wei, now working at the People’s Court of Tianjin Binhai New Area, explained the differences between national and provincial civil service exams as well as targeted recruitment programs. He compared exam formats and recruitment procedures and offered detailed tips for the written essay and aptitude tests. He also encouraged students to actively participate in campus activities to enhance their political awareness.
Deng Guanying, a legal affairs specialist at Chongqing Zhifei Biological Products Co., Ltd., gave a comprehensive overview of the campus recruitment process for legal roles. She offered targeted advice on preparing for written tests and interviews and emphasized that a legal professional qualification certificate is essential for entry into the field. She also noted that the value of practical internship experience, such as contract review and legal research, can be a significant advantage.
Huang Yue, an administrative staff member at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, focused on her job search experience. She shared key strategies for crafting effective resumes, highlighting how to align personal strengths with job requirements, and provided practical tips for interview preparation and information gathering.
Chen Zhiqi, currently pursuing a Ph.D. at China University of Political Science and Law, shared her journey toward doctoral studies. She outlined the application process from selecting the right university and supervisor to preparing application materials and performing well in interviews. She encouraged students interested in academic research to remain dedicated and persistent.
