ZHANG, Ju ,Associate Professor, Department of Foreign Languages

Education

Dr. Zhang received her B.A. from Hubei Normal University in 1998 and she received her Ph. D and Master’s from Beijing Language and Culture University in 2013 and 2007 respectively. She was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Regina (Canada) from 2018 to 2019.

Work Experience

Dr. Zhang began her career at Jingzhou Teacher’s College (now Yangtze University) from 1998 to 2003, and later worked for China Women’s University from 2007 to 2020. Between March 2018 and March 2019, she completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Regina in Canada. Since January 2020, she has been a faculty member at the School of Humanities and Law, Beijing University of Chemical Technology.

Research Interests

Dr. Zhang’s main research areas are contemporary British and American literature, with a focus on translation practice and the study of contemporary British female writer Penelope Fitzgerald.

Courses Taught

The English courses Dr. Zhang teaches include Appreciation of Literary Translation, Translation Practice, Advanced English Reading (I), Advanced English Reading (II), Integrated English III, Integrated English IV, Introduction to Foreign Language Research Methods and Thesis Writing, etc.
