Beijing University of Chemical Technology Research Team Releases the Major “Survey Report on Typical Samples of China’s Modern Agricultural Development”
To fully implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s directive on “accelerating the construction of an agricultural powerhouse and promoting agricultural and rural modernization,” and to uphold the primary mission of the agricultural supply industry in ensuring food security, the Second China Modern Agricultural Development Forum and the “Belt and Road” Agri-Chemical New Opportunities Forum were grandly held on January 23, 2024, at the Tibet Hotel in Beijing. The event was organized by the “Agri-Material Report” of the China Chemical Industry News Agency and supported by the think tank team from Beijing University of Chemical Technology. Nearly 200 experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center, “China Chemical Industry News,” and major national agri-chemical companies participated in this forum. Professor Zhou Yanling, Head of the Department of Public Administration at the College of Humanities and Law at Beijing University of Chemical Technology led the research team as the core think tank supporter of the event.
The forum featured a variety of engaging segments, including the “Release of Research Findings on Typical Samples of China’s Modern Agricultural Development and the 2024 Kickoff Ceremony,” the “CBP China Bio-Agriculture Promotion Grand Action Results Release and 2024 Launch Ceremony,” the “Strong Agricultural Supply Industry” Entrepreneur Forum, and the “Belt and Road” Agri-Chemical New Opportunities Forum.
During the “Release of Research Findings on Typical Samples of China’s Modern Agricultural Development” segment, Associate Professor Cheng Yaoyao from the College of Humanities and Law at Beijing University of Chemical Technology presented the “Survey Report on Typical Samples of China’s Modern Agricultural Development” on behalf of the research team. This report, being released for the first time, focuses on the theme “High-Quality Development of the Agri-Chemical Industry Boosting China’s Agricultural Modernization.” It is divided into four parts: the macro policy background for advancing agricultural modernization, the survey subjects and themes, the analysis of survey data and results, and the outlook for the high-quality development of the agri-chemical industry. Based on the data analysis and discussion of five major themes: soil remediation and improvement, fertilizer and pesticide reduction and water conservation, agricultural social services, smart agriculture development, and crop quality enhancement, the report offered targeted development suggestions from the perspectives of market demand, product promotion, and policy support. The release of the report sparked significant interest among attending experts regarding innovation and sustainable development in the agri-chemical sector. The detailed survey data and practical research recommendations were widely recognized and appreciated by the experts.
As a crucial industry supporting agriculture, the agri-chemical sector plays a vital role in modernizing agriculture and promoting rural revitalization. The industry continually introduces new products, develops new models, and innovates agricultural technologies, becoming an increasingly important support in advancing agricultural modernization. The research team from Beijing University of Chemical Technology and the “Agri-Material Report” have collaborated on surveys and research, working together with government, industry, and academia to promote the development of modern agriculture. This joint effort aims to enhance the agri-chemical industry’s impact and effectiveness in China’s agricultural modernization. In the future, the research team from the College of Humanities and Law will continue to focus on research, talent development, and social services. They will delve into supporting the high-quality development of China’s agri-chemical industry through technical talent support, establishing industry standards, building platforms, and improving technology promotion service mechanisms. Their goal is to produce high-quality results that benefit the industry and enterprises, contributing the expertise of Beijing University of Chemical Technology to the sustained high-quality development of China’s agri-chemical industry.
