College of Humanities and Law Held Meeting to Promote Interdisciplinary Development
To further explore effective pathways for interdisciplinary integration and enhance the development of high-level disciplines, the College of Humanities and Law convened a dedicated meeting on interdisciplinary advancement at the Changping Campus on January 10.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Zhang Jianwei, Dean of the College, and attended by Professor Xue Changli, Vice Dean, Professor Zhang Mu, a retired faculty member, along with key faculty representatives from the Law and Public Administration departments.
During the meeting, Dean Zhang Jianwei underlined the significance of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to serve national strategic priorities.
Drawing on his experience at the Ministry of Science and Technology, Professor Zhang Mu stressed the need to leverage disciplinary strengths, facilitate industry-university-research cooperation, break down disciplinary barriers, and promote cross-disciplinary synergy. He also highlighted the need for more organized research efforts, stronger discipline development, and a well-structured talent pipeline, with a particular focus on nurturing young researchers.
Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on various issues related to interdisciplinary integration and offered practical suggestions concerning discipline development, industry-university-research collaboration, talent cultivation, scientific research, and the integrated growth of academic disciplines. Moving forward, the college will continue to advance interdisciplinary initiatives, refine its academic strengths, and contribute to the University’s high-quality development through excellence in discipline building.
