Faculty and Students of the College of Humanities and Law Achieve Outstanding Results at the 6th “Wanhuida Cup” National University Intellectual Property (Trademark) Hot Issues Debate Competition

        Recently, faculty members and students from the College of Humanities and Law actively participated in the 6th “Wanhuida Cup” National University Intellectual Property (Trademark) Hot Issues Debate Competition, hosted by the China Trademark Association. The competition was co-sponsored by Wanhuida Intellectual Property and co-organized by the Law College of Beijing Technology and Business University and the Beijing Junce Intellectual Property Development Center, with support from China Trademark Magazine and the Internet Trademark and Brand Committee of the China Trademark Association. The event attracted 40 university teams nationwide, including representatives from Renmin University of China and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.



The College of Humanities and Law at Beijing University of Chemical Technology attached great importance to the competition, organizing multiple preparatory seminars and carefully selecting ten students to participate. Professors Yu Jun, Cai Jingmeng, and Zhang Huixia served as faculty advisors, providing several rounds of professional guidance on the debate topics.



In the contest for a place in the top 16, our team competed against Yantai University. During the formal debate, our debaters demonstrated clear reasoning and precise expression in the opening statements, rebuttals, and cross-examination sessions, earning high recognition from the judges and showing a solid theoretical foundations and a distinctive debating style. Ultimately, the team advanced to the top 16, ranking fourth in this round. Student Zheng Kefei was awarded Best Debater of the match.

In the Round of 16 knockout stage, our team faced Renmin University of China. Although narrowly defeated by just one vote, our debaters impressed the judges with their strong professional knowledge and rigorous reasoning. Zheng Kefei once again received the Best Debater award with eight votes.



This competition not only witnessed students’ professional growth in the field of intellectual property but also highlighted the resilience and courage of BUCT students in rising to challenges. Through this event, students of the College of Humanities and Law will continue to move forward with greater enthusiasm and strong professional competence, striving for excellence and achieving new accomplishments.
