College of Humanities and Law Successfully Hosts the 4th Faculty–Student–Alumni Tennis Friendship Tournament

To further advance the Four-All Education” initiative and put into practice the philosophy of “educating through sport and strengthening the spirit through physical activity,” the College of Humanities and Law held its 4th Faculty–Student–Alumni Tennis Friendship Tournament on May 10, 2026, at the Changping Campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology. The event brought together more than 20 alumni and nearly 30 current faculty members and students to compete on the same court.

The tournament featured two divisions based on playing level: Group A (3.0+) and Group B (3.0−). A two-stage format of round-robin group play followed by single elimination ensured both fairness and competitive intensity. Matches followed a six-game-set, no-ad scoring system, with a tiebreak at 6–6 to determine the winner. Throughout the round-robin stage, players demonstrated impressive skill and resilience, with several matches extending to nail-biting tiebreaks that showed the perseverance and sportsmanship of BUCT faculty, students, and alumni.

More than a sporting event, the friendship tournament served as a meaningful platform for athletic exchange and community building among faculty, students, and alumni, while also representing a vivid practice of the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education and promoting campus sports culture. The College will continue to develop high-quality signature sporting events aligned with the national goal of building a strong sports culture, encouraging broader participation in campus athletics and injecting sustained vitality into the cultivation of well-rounded students in the new era.
