College of Humanities and Law Holds the 2026 Master's Degree Conferment Ceremony
On the afternoon of June 16, 2026, the 2026 Master’s Degree Conferral Ceremony of the College of Humanities and Law was held at the Qiuzhen Lecture Hall on the Changping Campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT). Liang Yongtu, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of BUCT and Dean of the College of Humanities and Law, attended the ceremony. Other College leaders, faculty representatives, graduate advisers, the College’s 2026 master’s graduates, and family representatives also attended. The ceremony was presided over by Zheng Xiuying, Party Secretary of the College.

Vice President Liang Yongtu extended warm congratulations to the graduates who had completed their studies and earned their degrees. He noted that, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence profoundly reshaping development models across all sectors, students of the humanities and law should take a balanced view of AI’s value and limitations. They should use intelligent tools to improve efficiency and broaden their perspectives while preserving the human qualities algorithms cannot replace: humanistic reflection, empathy, sound judgment, and a strong sense of legal responsibility. He encouraged all graduates to embrace lifelong learning. He added that graduation is by no means the end of learning but the beginning of a new stage of growth. They should keep updating their knowledge in step with the times and establish themselves in a competitive environment. In closing, he encouraged the graduates to stay true to their aspirations, remain committed to their families and country, and work diligently in their chosen fields as they build a bright future.

Professor Zhou Yanling, speaking on behalf of the faculty advisers, offered warm congratulations and words of encouragement to all 2026 master’s graduates. Reflecting on their years together on campus, she encouraged the graduates to keep learning and growing throughout their lives, whether in the workplace, at home, or in society. She hoped they would stay true to the College’s founding mission of educating students, shoulder their responsibilities as young people, and use their professional knowledge to serve society.

Graduate representative Li Meilin spoke about her three years of graduate study at the College, including the challenges she faced and the personal growth she experienced. She expressed deep attachment to her alma mater and gratitude to her faculty advisors and family for their support. She encouraged her fellow graduates to apply the professional skills they had gained, put their humanistic values into practice, pursue their goals with determination, and contribute to society through their work.

Vice Dean Zheng Yanyang read out the list of outstanding 2026 master’s graduates, and Vice Dean Xu Jun read out the list of recipients of the 2026 academic and professional master’s degrees. The university leaders and professors adjusted the graduates’ caps, turned their tassels, and presented them with their degree certificates.

May the 2026 master’s graduates of the College of Humanities and Law enjoy a bright future. With their alma mater’s best wishes, may they uphold the BUCT spirit, fulfill their responsibilities, pursue their dreams, and write a new chapter in life.
